What happened to my intentions July 2010?

For anyone chancing to happen on this blog please note that I will be focusing my efforts elsewhere (a new consulting business Integral Resilient Enterprise Development). I'll most likely use a wordpress blog for the Internet Presence of the Business.

I will post a link here when up and running.

Meanwhile here are enterprises/blogs/websites that I consider are leaders in their respective fields;

For understanding and preparing for the energy descent (low carbon future) see www.postcarbon.org, especially Richard Heinberg's writings. His book "End of Growth" tells it like it really is.

For a vast resource on climate science accessible to the intelligent layperson see www.realclimate .org ans links therein.

For a powerful tool that can be used to enlarge one's natural intelligence of any development process (business, scientific, personal) A E Blake's www.duversity.org is a rich resource.

For the next step in conscious evolution see any of Ken Wilber's writings but especially "Sex, Egology and Spirituality" and "Integral Psychology".
See http://www.integralinstitute.org/ for the leading edge of integral.

For authenic Permaculture Design principles see http://www.holmgren.com.au/ . Also http://permaculture.org.au/ .
Dave Holmgren's Money vs Fossil Fuel; Battlle for Control of the world, downloadable from his site (see above) is a must read - especially if you're expending a lot of valuable energy on protesting the current dysfunctional and therefore unsustainable system.

And if you're an economist and don't yet know that neo-classiccl economics is disconnected from biophysical reality please read up on ecological economics and/or biophysical economics.

The developing science of resilience (C S Holling) is also very relevant to now.

I wish to be of benefit to others. If I can’t be helpful at least I’ll try not to be harmful.

Endeavouring to practice Vajrayana Buddhism following the guidance of authentic teachers, I will try to remember the four ordinary foundations that help inspire practice:

  1. Precious human life – it is rare, it has unbounded potential to be realised and its length is unpredictable.
  2. Impermanence – neither self (ego) nor any external phenomena have any permanent independent existence.
  3. Karma (activity, cause and effect) – all results are dependent on causes and conditions. Wholesome actions generate wholesome results, unwholesome actions generate unwholesome results.
  4. The viciousness of Samsara (worldly existence) – existence (or the delusion of existing as an independent self) is suffering (unsatisfactory); and the realisation of enlightenment is freedom from suffering, Nirvana.

With this intention to benefit beings at a worldly level (that of conceptual knowledge) I may share my understanding of more mundane matters of “relative truths”; such as “theories of everything”; semiotics; integral psychology; evolution; the ideology and practice of empirical science and “big science”; technology analysis; business development; economics; values and belief systems (levels and modes by which they are formed); cause and effect (karma); impermanence; time, space and knowledge – small and Great; human caused climate disruption – science, consequences and mitigating actions needed; peak oil; art; literature; theatre; poetry; activism; family; etc.

There’s not much this blog will exclude – my interests (and thus possibilities for distraction from really meaningful activity) are wide and, hopefully, deep.
